GAY RIGHTS ADVOCATE & AUTHOR "ON A MISSION"

This is a message I have sent out to over 50 sites on the Internet:

I am gay and live the difference, bringing my experiences to Memoir of Being Gay in America. I am an author on a mission to educate the world’s population about understanding and accepting people who are gay. My book, Living the Difference, is an important resource for young gay men or women living with fear, shame or self-loathing; or for anyone coming to terms with a friend or family member’s coming out, as well as their own coming out. I told my story not to shock, offend or convert anyone, but simply to lay out a road map for acceptance. The book lights a candle against the darkness of ignorance. Editorial reviews of my book call Living the Difference “a fascinating journey no gay author has been able to capture to date,” “conquering the final frontier of bigotry and prejudice,” and “filled with love, hate, joy, sorrow and much more.” A recent review said my book is “remarkably under-sensationalized,” praising my honest storytelling style that leaves the reader to draw his or her own conclusions. Living the Difference lifts the curtain on the so-called Gay Lifestyle, revealing a human portrait that resonates regardless of gender or sexual orientation. It’s a portrait of success, of meaning, and of hope.

Sincerely,
Joe (J.C.) Knudson, Father of two, Partner of 18 years, & Author of Living the Difference

Be a part of his world; find out more at   https://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_179421342110744&ap=1

A bit more about MARCEL:

Marcel is a publicity campaign started by my publicist and the basic premise is that Marcel is an internet go getter who will give tremendous publicity to anyone he befriends. He is sometimes caught under the tree or somewhere else with his Kindle and the intent of the campaign is that he is reading my book on his Kindle. This campaign has the potential to storm the internet and beyond, reaping great benefits for all who Marcel befriends. We have been getting great feedback from many businesses and individuals. Marcel will become a household name before we know it. Marcel is even being introduced to Ben Cohen and Ellen Degeneres; we'll see where that goes. Marcel has a great future ahead of him as do his friends and colleagues...P.S. Marcel is going through a few struggles of his own with his sexual identity!

https://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_179421342110744&ap=1
IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE OUR TWO SHOWCASED MEMBERS FOR THE WEEK:

Many of you know Stephanie Donald of LGBT-Today at http://www.lgbt-today.com/ . Stephanie doesn't blink an eye when she has an opinion or comment to post; that's what puts her at the top of her field. If you've read LGBT-Today, you know what I mean; if you haven't, you need to go right on over and do so now. Stephanie is being showcased this week by our group for her talents and her contributions to the LGBT community. You will see her appear on various sites throughout the internet this week. I truly believe a great place for any gay friendly business to advertise would be in her publication; you would truly reach a diverse segment within our own LGBT community, as well as the fact that Stephanie has some long established contacts throughout the community with ties nationwide. Please take the time to congratulate Stephanie and LGBT-Today for her talents and her contributions to our community...

Jim Koury; what more can I say about this individual who is behind a great publication...WELL I WILL SAY MORE. Jim is also being showcased this week by our group and I am extremely PROUD to say he is my friend, as well as a great individual working for the LGBT community every spare second he has. Not only does Jim know what it takes to be a strong and powerful advocate of gay rights, but he is also one hell of a public speaker, having recently delivered a speech at the UU Church of Athens & Sheshequin, PA. His field of expertise is diverse, as is his personality, meaning his publication is one filled with diverse articles, etc. showing his broad range of talents. Advertisers would be wise to place advertisements within his publication as they will reach a diverse group of followers with money to spend. Jim is very creative and can come up with an advertising game plan that can be suited for your particular business and budget. You will find Jim and Diversity Rules Magazine at http://www.diversityrulesmagazine.com/ appearing this week all around the net. Congratulate Jim and don't forget to spread the news...

EXPOSURE

Wow, this is an extremely HUGE & IMPORTANT word for any writer of any genre!  So you've written your book and finally got it published, great!

Do you just sit back and watch sales multiply over and over again?  Do you hope some screenwriter somewhere will take notice and voice an interest?  NO and YES...

These things will happen, but only after EXPOSURE happens.

I have a great publicist who tells me in the social networking arena on the Internet, you must have many followers and "likes" to your various sites and pages.  I NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE!

Follow my blog, connect with me on face book and linkedin, follow me on twitter, "like" my book on Amazon, share my posts, etc.  These are a few things you could do to help me.

There's been some recent interest from a screenwriter, but my publicist still tells me I need more of the above.

I am a 56 year old divorced gay male who came out later in life. Having been married for several years, I am the father of two fantastic sons. I went through what many in the gay community have gone through themselves, struggles with identity, as well as fitting in a “one-sided” society. While I lead a seemingly straight life throughout my early and younger middle age years, I knew I was definitely different from the so called “typical male”. I married my high school sweetheart and began on a journey of hope that my true inner feelings and desires would someday change. I am using my book recently released as a vehicle on my mission to educate the world’s population about understanding and accepting people who are gay. My book lifts the curtain on the so called “gay lifestyle”, revealing a human portrait that resonates regardless of gender or sexual orientation. It’s been termed a portrait of success, of meaning, and of hope. It lights a candle against the darkness of ignorance.

I want to see equality for all LGBT individuals happen in my lifetime.  PLEASE HELP BY VISITING THE FOLLOWING:

Meredith Worthen and "THE WELCOMING PROJECT"

You must go visit this site immediately:  http://www.thewelcomingproject.org/

The Welcoming Project began in 2011 and was created to encourage local businesses, organizations, and churches in Norman, OK, to display welcoming signs for the purpose of making LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer) individuals and allies feel welcomed as patrons. The Welcoming Project is available to communities throughout the United States.

It's so nice to get updates on businesses who are now posting this awesome "ALL ARE WELCOME" sign. Meredith Worthen was one of the first three showcased members selected from around the world to be showcased on the following fb group  https://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_179421342110744&ap=1 What she has started with her project is more than just phenomenal; it goes beyond just allowing patrons to know all are welcome, it signifies an alliance that is being forged in communities across the nation and elsewhere.

Many cities are looking for ways to increase tourism and commerce and so many fail to realize that attracting tourists by allowing the public to know you promote diversity and "ALL ARE WELCOME" is one of the best ways to assure potential tourists that your city has an array of diverse venues to accommodate any individual or organization looking for a host city or just a great place to visit. Civic leaders and event coordinators should be first in line to promote THE WELCOMING PROJECT. It's also just nice to know that "ALL ARE WELCOME" when you patronize a business.

Inside LIVING THE DIFFERENCE

J.C. Knudson has done what few other people have dared to do. He has written a book detailing the story of his life. I know tons of people write about their lives –too many to count and within every life is a story or lesson worth finding. What makes this book noteworthy is that J.C. has written with the intent of revealing his earliest memories of same sex attraction. His book details his early sexual development and goes on to outline the events of his life as affected and shaped by his sexual orientation. In writing, he has avoided much of the self pity or self aggrandizement that often characterize biographies, instead choosing to relate his story in a way that allows others to form their own opinions –to reject or to embrace the message he has to share.  The resulting book is remarkably under-sensationalized.

J.C. doesn’t try to convince you of what being gay is or is not. He believes that being gay is as natural as being straight and so he doesn’t waste time defending that position. He simply and neatly opens the doors and lets you look inside his life. He is respectful. He doesn’t impose on the reader or force intimacy. His story explores the wasted moments and the misery created through self denial and ignorance, showing clearly that living a lie leads to a life full of regret and self judgment. By embracing himself and his natural desires J.C. opened himself and his life for self respect, for true loving, lasting relationships, and to mutual appreciation. He shares his confusion and desires without being explicit, and in so doing makes it possible for others to learn from his life, offering as much in the way of comfort and hope as he does to dispel fear and ignorance.

Living the Difference reveals in its pages a man with high standards, ethics, dedication, love, and loyalty. The life he has led could easily be any of our lives, at the best and worst of times and yet the difference is there, imposed by the perceptions and culture around him. What did Living the Difference reveal to me? It revealed a human story of triumph and humility that offers hope and a measure of normalcy to counter the perception of irresponsibility and flamboyant decadency which veils the “gay life.”

There is much in this book that may be helpful in dispelling prejudice and fear about gay men in particular. However, the most benefit will be gained by those who will read between the lines and notice that J.C. is no different in his humanity than they are. I recommend this book for those who are struggling to suppress homosexual attractions or who are in confusion about their sexual orientation.

This book will be especially helpful to those men who like J.C. have lived or are living double lives. Many gay men would like to embrace themselves but are afraid that doing so will remove them from having full lives; from the possibility of finding happiness, meaningful relationship, success, and achievement. J.C.’s story reveals that being gay does not condemn anyone to an empty or frivolous life, devoid of relationship, and doomed to rejection. If nothing else J.C’s story offers hope to those who otherwise might have only the fear and self loathing. The real difference between gay and straight life comes from having the sanction to love fully by embracing one’s self. Living well being the only choice one has to make.
